For researchers of the Faculties of sciences and medicine, in the context of the new "Institut de génétique et génomique genevois".

This service is a complement to existing services, and collaborates with the genomics platform, the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, and the "Centre Universitaire de Bioinformatique".
In general, and in keeping with the spirit of other platforms, the emphasis of the service will not be in "doing things for you", but in "helping you to do things yourself".

Examples of the type of help the service should ultimately be able to provide:

• Planning analyses and design experiments appropriately with regards to the research question.
• Proper choice of statistical methods for data analysis; help with understanding and applying valid methods.
• Developing an appropriate mathematical model for the phenomenon to be investigated.
• Proper choice of software; help with understanding and using software.
• Development of specific software tools.
• Interpretation and presentation of mathematical and statistical results.

The service is available by appointment only.

The requests for appointments should be addressed to biosc-at-unige.ch (replace -at- to obtain a valid address) and should include a brief account of the problems and questions motivating the request.
